Pattern Play - Exploring Surfaces with Adrienne Eliades September 20 - 21st
Join us for this weekend long workshop with local artist Adrienne Eliades of Bugaboo Eyes!
Ready to level up your ceramic surface design? In this engaging, hands-on workshop, we’ll dive into stencil resist techniques that will open up a world of pattern, texture, and layered imagery on clay. Using a variety of resist materials—including paper, Tyvek, and underglaze—you’ll learn how to create bold, detailed surfaces on wet clay with techniques that can be adapted for all firing temperatures. Students can plan to meet both days from 10am-3pm
Through live demonstrations and group discussion, you’ll be guided in developing your own visual language by tapping into personal inspiration and imagery. Along the way, we’ll explore how surface design can enhance form and function in your work. By the end of the weekend, you’ll walk away with new surface skills, decorated cone 6 tiles, and a toolkit of ideas to fuel your studio practice. Open to all skill levels—whether you’re new to clay or a seasoned maker.
